Most people who have had their brows tattooed in the past will be turned away. Please contact me with a photo of your brows to see if I can take you as a client

If you are unsure whether or not you can receive microblading, please contact Motherofblades@gmail.com

  • I typically book out 2.5hr for the first session, I don’t like to rush. Every client has their own unique needs based off their skin type, with that being said. it doesn’t normally take that long. The Perfecting Session tend to go a lot faster as the foundation has already been laid, and you’ve been informed of the whole process at the prior appointment.

  • Nano is a technique for implanting the pigment into the skin using a tattoo machine. This is a hair stroke technique that I do in place of microblading. Microblading is not ideal for all candidates where as Nano is. It is much less aggressive on the skin and has longer lasting results, ranging from 2-4 years.

  • While I only offer machine brow techniques, I still think it is important to share what the difference in techniques is.

Microblading is a cosmetic tattoo technique using a handheld tool to create strokes in the skin that mimic brow hairs. This technique can be used to enhance existing eyebrows or re-store lost or sparse brows. If you have very thin brows or little to no brow hair, results can be more 2D and could require more than 2 sessions to achieve your desired look. Microblading typically heals best on normal to dry, healthy skin types.

  • Ombre Shaded brows are done using a tattoo machine to create a soft powered look within the brows. This technique is great for those looking for a more “makeup” look or who want more definition than microblading. Ombré Shading can achieve a soft natural look or a more dramatic look depending on the clients preference. It’s also a great method for more oily and mature skin types, or those with very thin, yet coarse brow hair. Ombré Shading tends to last longer than microblading and fade more evenly over time than hair strokes.

  • Everyone experiences and tolerates pain differently. We use a topical anesthetic to numb the area during the procedure to keep you comfortable, with most clients reporting a 2-3 out of 10.

  • Microblading, Combination Brows and Ombré Shading are tattoo services. Any time pigment is implanted under the skin, and lasts more than 6 weeks, it’s considered to be permanent/tattooing. They do fade softly over time and require refresher or touch up sessions, on average, every 12-24 months. It is impossible to determine how long pigment will remain in the skin for years to come. Everyone retains pigment differently and fades at different rates. For some clients it may fade away completely, and for some it may not. Skin type, lifestyle, and skincare products can all effect the longevity of cosmetic tattoos.

*Please note that final results CAN NOT be guaranteed as everyone retains and breaks down pigment differently and a follow-up appointment is recommended at 6-8 weeks where we can asses your pigment retention and make any changes necessary. People with lighter hair, correction work or sparse eyebrows may require more than one follow-up to reach their desired look at an additional cost.

  • I take previous work on a case by case basis. An in person consultation is required.

  • Yes! Following this Pre Appointment Care is very important:

-Waxing/threading must be done at least 48 hours before your appointment

  • Microblading is a technique to naturally enhance or recreate the look of lost eyebrow hairs. The healed result is soft and natural, making it perfect for an everyday look. Microblading is not meant to replace makeup. Brow makeup will always be more vibrant and opaque on the skin, resulting in a bolder more defined look than microblading alone.

Microblading will allow you to have full brows while not wearing makeup, and quickly be able to follow the design and define with makeup for a bolder look.

  • A cosmetic tattoo does not effect your natural hair growth, you can continue using your preferred method of hair removal to clean up any stray hairs outside of the design.

  • You should avoid the use of any skincare products with AHA/BHA, Retinol, Retin-A, Hydroquinone, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, etc. Prolonged exposure to these ingredients can lead to fading and pigment discoloration.

  • The appointment typically takes 2 1/2 - 3 hours. We start with a consultison to determine the look you’re going for and discuss the best techniques for your skin. It’s also helpful to have reference photos of what you like and what you don’t like! Feel free to come in with brow makeup on so I can see how you normally do them. After our consult, I will map out the ideal brow for your face shape with pencil. Once we agree on our outline, we numb the area and then start the tattooing process.

  • Brows are typically fully healed in 5-10 days. Your brows will look darker and bolder in color for the first few days, this is totally normal! Your brows will also flake/peel during healing, this is also normal and may appear like they’re fading too much or losing too much pigment. Trust the process and follow your aftercare instructions. After the new skin has healed, the pigment becomes visible and more vibrant again, usually around 4 weeks after your appointment. Your perfecting session will take care of any areas that may have faded more than desired.

  • Tipping is customary, but entirely at your discretion, much the same as your hairdresser, massage therapist, tattoo artist, nail technician, etc.

Lip Blush FAQs

  • Lip Blush is a gentle tattooing process that builds and layers color to balance shape, blend color, neutralize cool undertones, and give the overall illusion of fuller, healthier lips.

  • Unfortunately this is a hard no, unless in Paramedical Lip Tattoo procedures. Ultimately tattooing outside of the lip line will give an artificial look. Most clients do have more lip tissue than they do color, which allows for the lips to actually look fuller once colored.

  • In all honesty, the majority of my clients say that their lip blush procedure is less painful than their brows. The lips are very vascular and tend to numb even faster.

  • Colors are selected partly by client style and preference, but ultimately it is based off the lip undertones and natural lip color. Lip Blush is meant to enhance your natural lip, and not look heavy like lipstick. You can always we are lipstick on top of your Lip Blush once they are fully healed.

  • The healing process tends to be very similar to chapped lips. Ultimately everyone heals differently, but the majority of my clients have a gently chapped lip, followed by pale tones for a few weeks until the skin is fully rejuvenated and the color blooms back to the surface.

  • Of course! You just need to do your lip filler either 2-4 weeks before or after your Lip Blush appointment, so that it has plenty of time to settle. I prefer my clients to have lip filler before, opposing to after. Think of how color lightens as a balloon expands, to get the most bang for your buck, do fillers prior.

  • Always keep hydrated, drink lots of water before and after your procedure to help promote healthy skin and healing. Have a snack or meal before your session, getting tattooed on an empty stomach is no fun. Please do not ingest any caffeine, vitamin E, alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or niacin 24hr before (unless medically necessary). These can cause extra bleeding which can cause poor retention. Do not have fillers done 4 weeks pre or post lip session. Please use a gentle lip scrub at night 4-5 days prior to your appointment for 2-3 minutes. Follow with a thick layer of something extra hydrating for the lips, such as coconut oil, aquaphor, Shea butter or raw honey for 15 minutes. Avoid lipsticks 72 hours prior to your treatment, they can be drying to the lips. Use a nourishing balm instead!

If you have had cold sores or fever blisters in the past, please contact your physician and get a prescription for Acyclovir. Begin taking this the day of your session as well as the following 4 days to avoid any outbreaks.

Freckles FAQs

  • Faux freckles are done in multiple sessions to gently layer in color, and build up density without having the freckles look symmetrical and blocky. The appointments go fairly quickly, and the healing process is very simple. Please bring in reference photos of what your overall freckle goals are. You will have to discontinue use of all skin care products, except for a mild face wash and aftercare product used as moisturizer.

  • In all honesty, the majority of my clients say that their lfauc freckle procedure is less painful than their brows. They feel a little more tender in certain areas, but the process itself is fairly quickly done.
